How This System Works

This system checks four conditions: the team's Elo rating is at least 20.915 points above the opponent, the team's Elo rating is at least 107.085 points above the opponent, the team is overvalued according to Elo relative to the betting line, and the team's standard deviation of runs created per game over their last 5 games using standard batting metrics is 2.4773 or lower. These conditions identify games where a team with a substantial Elo rating advantage and consistent recent run production is priced as a stronger favorite than their Elo advantage alone would suggest.

Backs strong teams with significant Elo rating advantages facing opponents whose top five batters have produced 2.48 runs or fewer, targeting overvalued favorites in the betting market.
