How This System Works

This system selects games where the batting team has averaged a ground ball to fly ball ratio above 0.895 over their last 10 games, averaged more than 0.0 catcher interferences over their last 5 games, and the pitching team has shown a standard deviation in inherited runners scored above 0.4472 over their last 5 games. These conditions identify games involving a team that hits ground balls at a higher rate relative to fly balls, has recorded at least some catcher interference recently, and faces pitching that has been inconsistent in preventing inherited runners from scoring.

Targets teams with high ground-ball tendency, recent catcher interference events, and relief pitchers showing high volatility in inherited runner scoring.
